The city of Tolagnaro nestled in a strange landscape between the large sea of the south and the moutains, is a departure point to visit the country of the Antanosy and Antandroy, but also a place of destination to see the humpback whales (July to September). The surroundings offer numerous different landscapes which are representatives of the thorny south and the zone of the humid forest if the east. In the region of Tolagnaro are located the national parl of Andohahela, the private reserve of Berenty and the lake Anony by the sea.
This is a private reserve located at 7 km (40 minutes) from the City of Fort-Dauphin on the road to Saint-Luce (road leading to North).This is a quiet place that mixes lemur species of the South of the Big Island. You can also make boat ride on the river bordering the reserve. You can choose between five existing circuits: cultural tour, medicinal herbs, water on land, and discovery off the beaten path.
Located 11 km from the city of Fort-Dauphin, this is a private estate with beautiful trees and nursery well stocked with local species is against Manantantely primary rainforest. A two hours walk up to the waterfall into valley, then to a natural pool where to relax. This area is also a living laboratory for the students in the region. Besides swimming and trekking, you can go on a camping trip.
